BTS Joins Forces With Steve Aoki & Desiigner For Remix Of 'Mic Drop'

Two days before performing for the first time live on American television at the American Music Awards, BTS will release a special remix of their Love Yourself: Her track "Mic Drop."

The update of the cheeky, trap-infused hip-hop song, which brags about BTS’ success internationally and on Billboard charts, will be done by the dance producer Steve Aoki and features Desiigner of "Panda" fame.

The collaboration of the Love Yourself: Her track was first teased by Aoki several weeks ago, while Desiigner began dropping hints on Twitter a few days ago that he had worked with BTS, the boy band of the moment.

The latter again tweeted about the “Mic Drop,” hours after he declared that he will drop two new albums of his own. BTS also confirmed the remix late Monday night (Tuesday morning in Korea).

In an interview with Billboard, Aoki previously praised BTS as “geniuses” and "brand developers."

This will be the group’s second collaboration with American artists related to their record-breaking Her; the group also worked with Andrew Taggart of The Chainsmokers on the album track “Best of Me.”

The seven-member boy band will share the remix with its ardent fanbase, ARMY, on November 17, just two days before they perform their single “DNA” at the AMAs on November 19 in Los Angeles. It marks the act's first time performing live on primetime U.S. television, and their second awards show appearance, following May's Billboard Music Awards where they won the Top Social Artist award.
